Major Milestone for 1133 Waterfall Country Estate
1133 Tugela Road at Waterfall Country Estate reached a significant milestone with the completion of the first floor slab. The slab is an engineering feat with some significant features including a 12 ton, 11.5 meter beam which enables us to open up the ground floor and provide uninterrupted views from the patio. All together the whole slab required approximately 130 tons of concrete which when added to the 30 tons of beams, and reinforcement gives you an idea of the work involved and the importance of building it right.

Prior to throwing the concrete the slab looked like a maze of pipes as it has to make accommodation for the numerous special features the owner is building into the house including:
- A centralised hot water and heating system that will utilise a combination of solar and gas and 10 individually controlled heating zones.
- Built in vacuum cleaning system
- A distributed home entertainment system which can be controlled centrally
- A complex lighting system which makes use of over 100 integrated down-lighters.
- Support for the digital village system
- Run-off and grey water collection system

We expect to complete the 1st floor brick work shortly, after which the roof will be going on, we’re pretty sure that this house is going to be one of the outstanding houses on Waterfall Estate.
